Jazz in the Longbranch Lounge
February 5, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Join the Eddie Piccard Quartet in the Longbranch Lounge for an evening of jazz music.
The band has its own groove, sizzles or swings, and Eddie sings songs from the inside out.
Every Friday the Second Set features music associated with one or two particular stars of the jazz world.
This Friday we’re “hitting the road” at the Longbranch. Perhaps it is because being a jazz musician often meant a life of travel. Perhaps it is simply because musicians loved the places they lived and worked. Whatever the cause, jazz music is full of songs about boulevards, real and fictitious streets, routes, and roads.
“Basin Street” is one of the most famous. “Perdido” is a street in New Orleans and a jazz classic. “On the Street Where You Live” comes to us from the stage, “Green Dolphin Street” from the world of film. And “Route 66″ was a gift from Nat “King” Cole.
We can’t cover the whole map in one night, but we will explore some of these songs this Friday (2/5) in our Second Set at the Longbranch.
Hope you can join us in our musical travels.
